ABOUT

Freelance since 2014, I enjoy getting down into the detail to improve the accuracy and flow of the written word. I have an inquisitive nature and enjoy variety, hence my broad portfolio of clients and projects. I speak Spanish and am fascinated by all things hispanic – the language, culture and art.

I embarked on my editorial trade at Oxford University Press in the ELT (English Language Teaching) division where I learned how a book is built, refined and published. My principal responsibilities were copy-editing, proofreading and project management.

Prior to publishing, I worked in ceramics, corporate communications, energy consultancy, and import/export, so I can draw on experience from both academic and business worlds.

When not staring at two screens, I enjoy reading, food, and walking by the Thames. I also have a strong creative streak, so I draw and paint in my free time. Oh yes, I'm also well known for being a bit of a tulip freak...

Credentials

I am an Advanced Professional Member of the CIEP (Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading), and follow their Code of Practice.

An advocate of CPD (Continuing Professional Development), I train with the CIEP and PTC (Publishing Training Centre) to refresh or update my editorial knowledge. I also enjoy learning new skills – for the benefit of both my business and my brain.
