How much will it cost?
It depends... a most annoying answer, but true. Projects are costed individually, based on:
- service required (copy-edit or proofread?)
- extent (number of words?)
- condition of material (one author, or multiple contributors?)
- format (Word document or PDF?)
- scope (a one-off or a series of discrete tasks?)
- delivery deadline.
For example, a bi-fold marketing leaflet would probably require a straightforward proofread. On the other hand, a 30-page report written by three separate authors would probably require a copy-edit.
Sight of copy to be edited is the most effective way for me to assess a job. The more information I have, the more accurate my estimate will be.
